- Looks like Undertaker might be back on SmackDown! on some sort of regular basis. Fucking sick.
- Oney Lorcan was on SmackDown! this week. I really like Oney, and hopefully this means he could be getting a push of sorts. Thinking about it, he could be a nice addage to 205 Live.
- Apparently Io Shirai and Kairi Hojo aren't coming to NXT anymore according to Grandaddy Meltzer. Shame that.
- The CHIKARA game has received full funding on its indiegogo ($25,000). Really looking forward to this, looks like it'll be a nice break from the 2K games.
- Not only was Edge and Undertaker on SmackDown!, Tony Chimel returned to introduce Edge like only he can
And now for the banana in this wrestling blog split, its the matches!
Monday Night RAW
Best Match on RAW (14/11/16): Kevin Owens & Roman Reigns vs Cesaro & Sheamus
It's the go-home show for Survivor Series, so that means one last week of 'THESE GUYS ARE MEANT TO BE PARTNERS!? THEY CAN HARDLY CO-EXIST!' bullshit. Just let them be a team guys. If these guys dont really care about who wins the tag match, why should I? This is why I am rooting for Team SmackDown! for all of the matches.
Anywho, look what we got here,
By all accounts, Sheamus & Cesaro (Sheasaro) are supposed to be the disfunctional team here, but considering the opponents they were looking pretty legit. They're using more and more double teams, and I really like the forced tag-trading uppercuts spot they do, always worth a giggle, and its always stiff. This kinda made me feel like them losing made no sense - Roman & Kevin are making no attempts at teamwork but hey, I didn't book this.
It appears Cesaro has learnt from his near-death experience of his last suicide dive and has now gone back to his sweet-ass flip over the ropes. Maggle, I love it.
Kev did a lot of mocking Reigns in this, and I hope we get a whole lot more this Sunday. And with Jericho there too, there's bound to be some form of shenanigans.
Clusterfuck of finishers to end this one, with Roman coming out as the only one standing and draping a limp Owens over Sheamus for a pin. Like I said, not too big a fan of that, but not much I can do now. Decent match this.
SmackDown! LIVE
Best Match on SD! (15/11/16): Dolph Ziggler vs The Miz - WWE Intercontinental Championship Match
Goddamn these guys on a roll with this feud. I thought I was gonna get burnt out on these two sooner after watching them continue this rivalry past No Mercy, but if there's one thing that can keep a feud entertaining and worthwhile, its having awesome matches.
Miz was taking it to Dolph for the majority of the opening minutes, beating a good amount of shit out of him. He continued his tradition of imitating Daniel Bryan, but went a step further than normal, adding in a nasty looking runnning knee on top of the kicks.
As seen in the clip above, there was a more than expected amount of kicking out of finishers for a SmackDown! match, but that only lends itself to putting the Intercontinental Championship in much higher regard, with the appearance that a match of that calibre is expected to be as hard-fought and enduring as that. This could have easily been one of their Pay-Per-View clashes, and you'd have a tough time telling them apart.
And then to top it all off, Miz fucking won! With a failed run-in from the Spirit Squad, Maryse tilted a Ziggler small package to have Miz get the 3 count. Did not see that coming at all.
Guess we're not having a lengthy Ziggler IC title run, at least not at the minute. Nonetheless, given Miz's run lately, him vs Zayn at Survivor Series will hopefully be class. I can easily see it stealing the show.
NXT
Best Match on NXT (16/11/16): Andrade 'Cien' Almas vs Cedric Alexander
We're at Full Sail now for this awesome contest between Andrade 'Cien ' Almas and Cruiserweight Classic standout, Cedric Alexander. I'm really digging this fued, and this new cocky-prick version of Almas, much better than when he debuted.
Almas had a fair few showing off type exchanges with Alexander, riling him up bad. My favourite was when he hid in the ropes and gave him a little wave with a big ol' shit-eating grin. Just a little thing like that can make you so much more invested in a match.
These guys were going hard with some of the strikes in this one, with the rivalry here being a pretty boiling-over one, no honour to it. And what better strike can you have than one coming out of the deepest pits of disrespect?
Viscious.
It wasn't too long after this (like, in the same sequence) where we got a real cool spot with Almas kicking Cedric out of the goddamn sky. This isn't a spectacularly rare spot in wrestling, but this one had some proper connection to it - and right in the fucking clapper.
Cedric landed his sick finisher, the Lumbar Check, but Andrade wriggled out of the ring avoiding near-certain defeat. Almas would come out the victor in this one, nailing Cedric with his weird limb-trap DDT thing. Awesome match this, lots of cool stuff throughout, and Almas is just a great heel.
Ring of Honour
Best Match on ROH TV (Episode 269): Team CMLL (Hechicero, Okumura & Ultimo Guerrero) vs Kamaitachi & The Addiction (Frankie Kazarian & Christopher Daniels) - ROH Six Man Tag Titles Tournament Match
We're gaining traction towards Final Battle, and we're chipping away at this Six Man Tag Title Tournament. This week, we've got the former Tag Team Champions, The Addiction, teaming with Kamaitachi going up against 3 luchadors coming from CMLL.
It is my first time seeing Hechicero, Okumura and Ultimo Guerrero, so this was pretty exciting. Okumura was alright, Hechichero was pretty cool - who was a Lord Humungus (read: Hugh Mungus) looking motherfucker, and Ultimo Guerrero was dope. He shoulder tackled a man and essentially murdered them; lotsa power on this one.
Team CMLL were on the aggressing side for what seemed like the majority of the matchup, with Daniels getting the brunt of the offense. Kamaitachi had some cool moments, doing his insane mega-suicide senton to the outside and laying in some deep chops into Ultimo's chest. But, it was mainly the luchadors who had the upper hand.
It was pretty good match this, sometimes the pacing felt a tad off, with there being a big sequence on the outside which kept on going and going. Otherwise, I liked it.
As always, you can watch ROH TV for FREE on the Fite TV app or at www.rohwrestling.com/tv/current
Lucha Underground
Best Match on LU (S3E11): Aztec Warfare
For the uninitiated, Aztec Warfare is basically the Lucha Underground version of the Royal Rumble. Now, seeing as this is a special episode that kinda breaks the structure of this whole gimmick I've got going here, so I figured I'd pick out the best performers;
- Johnny Mundo
- Matanza
- Rey Mysterio
Just a whole lot of action in this one, blink and you'll miss it type stuff. Matanza and Mundo started off this match and lasted til right near the end, so fair fucks to these guys. Mundo did some crazy flippy spots, and Matanza did a great job at keeping up his usual of throwing guys and gals all over the goddamn place.
I was tempted to put Pentagon Jr. on the list, he kicked the shit out of people and had some nice moments, but I feel with his shorter time in the match, he didn't quite have the impact these 3 had. Mysterio from entry to exit was a major player and had some great standoffs.
For all the hype, I was kinda expecting more sorta (?), I felt a few people were forgettable in it, didn't have a whole lot to do, but I suppose if you've only got 45ish minutes and you've got 20 people to get in with spots and sequences, some sacrifices would have to be made.

The Verdict
Best Match of the Week: Andrade 'Cien' Almas vs Cedric Alexander - NXT
Yepppers, I fucking loved this match. Miz/Ziggler was also great, but I felt Almas/Alexander had a more character, and to be fair some better spots. Kicking out of finishers are cool, but a nice, complex high spot will always rustle my jimmies. Andrade's heel antics also made this much more engaging, playing off Cedric's endurance and willpower wonderfully. Aztec Warfare is also a nice watch if you want a fuck tonne of people doing a fuck tonne of cool shit.
And with that, lets take a little look at this here leaderboard I've lovingly curated over the past few months with numbers'n'at. Accompanying this before I go, we've got 'The Best Wrestling Quote of the Week':
'You're still stuck on Chris Jericho's sugar tit' - AJ Styles
That's
