Before we start, Payback had me shit my pants and be on the verge of tears as I witnessed live Enzo Amore's injury. I was fearful for his life. I am pleased and thankful to say that Enzo is moving and communicating fine after receiving what is being called a 'severe concussion'. I hope for a speedy recovery and no lasting effects.
Extra! Extra! Wrestling news! Read all about it!
- More Cruiserweight news! Apparently, WWE are now gonna make all my past posts make me look like a tit as they've changed the name, as it is now known as the 'Cruiserweght Classic'. Noam Dar has qualified for the
GlobalCruiserweightSeriesClassic, beating Josh Bodom in the RevPro qualifier. If my memory is right, the tournament is set to consist of 32 wrestlers, and we know like 10, so fuck knows who the rest are. And that's real fucking exciting mate - Hey there UK fans who have Sky and watch SmackDown! The WWE's blue show is moving to 10pm on Thursdays starting May 26th. Make sure to check the blog to see what the best match is! (Cheap plug for the thing you're already goddamn reading, I'm a savvy business man and you know it)
- There are rumblings that with the Cruiserweight Classic gaining lots of interest, WWE are planning a Global Women's Series. We can always use some more quality female talent. Sounds baller.
- Bobby Roode and Manny Andrade (La Sombra) have both been announced for the NXT UK Tour (but the tweet about Roode was deleted, they probably should announce that he's signed first). Also appearing is former Port Vale FC goalkeeper, Huge Knox
WWE Payback
Best Match on Payback (1/5/16): Kevin Owens vs Sami Zayn
Honourable Mention: AJ Styles vs Roman Reigns - WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match
This pay-per-view was pretty damn good. It had some really cool matches, awesome wrestling, bit of weird booking but it was still great.
The match of the night here was the next addition to the possibly the best wrestling feud ever - Kevin Owens vs Sami Zayn. This was awesome. Starting with the big emotion, throwing bombs and anger and piss and vinegar, then it became an uber-competitive match-up, with big moves and hard hits - back body drop on the apron, torpedo DDT, but my favourite was Kev reversing Sami's tornado DDT into a backbreaker. Looked more painful than burying a beloved pet (the pet is dead by the way, I'm not a psycho). Owens won this one after a clattering superkick and a Pop-Up Powerbomb. Lovely stuff. It might not be a Ladder War, but I think of the matches I've seen of there's from all over, its up there.
These two wouldn't end it here, later continuing to brawl during the Intercontinental Championship match.

Also, thought I'd give a shoutout to Kalisto vs Ryback from the pre-show. After their showing at 'Mania also being on the pre-show and having only a fraction of the crowd present, I feel like they decided to go fucking all out on this one - and it showed. They threw out some really cool spots; Kalisto busted out some new outside dives (which nearly killed him) and Ryback did a Super Military Press. Fair fucks to these guys, fair fucks indeed.
Monday Night RAW

Thursday Night SmackDown!
Best Match on SmackDown! (5/5/16): AJ Styles, Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson vs Roman Reigns & The Usos
Its a repeat of a RAW match on SmackDown! - shocking, I know. As for a quality comparison, they were pretty much level, maybe the RAW one was just better. I do have some complaints about this match though, but it is something in general with WWE. Now, WWE, fuck right off with having Reigns just make bitches out of everybody. He took out Karl, AJ and Gallows within a minute of each other, and it wasn't even a fucking hot tag. In my opinion, even the Usos got too much offence on The Bullet Club (I know WWE aren't calling them that but until they've decided what phrase they want to get the copyright for that's what I'll call them). Some shit was knocked out of the Samoans, but not enough as there should've been.

NXT
Best Match on NXT (4/5/16): Austin Aries vs Tye Dillinger
I was torn picking this, because the main event this week was Samoa Joe facing off against the debuting Eric Young and that was really cool too. But, I found myself enjoying this match more. With Dillinger being featured in live event main events along side the like of Balor and Joe, I'm hoping that there are good things in his near future - in this match he busted out some new moves and the crowd were super-behind Tye. Y'know how AJ does that Fireman's Carry Neckbreaker? Tye did it too, but Austin looked like he landed right on his damn neck, AJs looks a little more protected but still sick. Austin went guns ablazing here too, a spinning plancha made me wow and he finished it off with a 450 splash. He didn't seem to jump forward much, looked like he just flipped on the spot.
Another note about this week's NXT, it appeared that they've rejigged the camera-work for entrances. It looked much nicer with how the shot panned around the wrestlers rather than much harder cuts. It was especially noticeable in Tye's entrance and they added some nice close-ups in Nia Jax's too. Fun tid-bit, Nia faced Tully Blanchard's daughter, it lasted like a minute.

Ring of Honour
Best Match on ROH TV(30/4/16): The Briscoes (Mark Briscoe & Jay Briscoe) vs The Bullet Club (Doc Gallows & Karl Anderson)
Gallows and Anderson on WWE and ROH programming!? Am I back in 1997!? No, you poor confused wrestling fan, its just the magic of ROH showing tapes from 3 months ago! This is the last of the Japan show tapings on TV, so hopefully we'll be getting at least somewhat nearer to the present day.
For the first half-ish, the match was something like this:
The Briscoes: "We want a wrestling match!"
Gallows & Anderson: "Nah fuck that"
The Bliz-Cliz tossed these fuckers into railings and all across Karouken Hall, then The Super Briscoe Bros. returned the favour. When we did get into the ring, the match was a good one. In Japan, they're tag matches seem to focus less on building to a hot tag. Changing partners was fluid and made sense, and it made it that much better. We had solid teamwork from both duos, and some big grunts from Karl & Doc, notably "BLAAARRGH" and "YEDOOOJGE". The ending saw The Briscoes pin Karl after a neckbreaker/elbow drop combination. What a nice match.
The Verdict
Best Match of the Week: Kevin Owens vs Sami Zayn - WWE Payback
Like I said, its another great addition to their rivalry. Owens and Zayn have more chemistry than Walter White, so whenever they have a match or even interact in the slightest, its always enthralling. Even though you might be a KO supporter, they always make it so at least a part of you roots for Sami. Surprisingly, this is 'Big Sexy' Kevin Owens' first time winning Match of the Week after having the most appearances on the blog to date. And this is how the leaderboard looks after this week
If you're interested in seeing highlights from the Owens/Zayn rivalry in ROH (See Steen/Generico), and you have 20 minutes, here's this for ya, you cuties
